Blogiddy Blog works a Miracle!!! Le Mistral changes hands

I received a nice comment on my posts relating to Le Mistral, the infamously (formerly) terrible restaurant, letting me know that Graham The Terrible has sold this restaurant to the chefs (the food was the only thing the place had going for it), and that they are working hard to bring Le Mistral back to its former glory.  I promise I will go very soon to report back on their progress!  As the readers of this blog can imagine, no one is happier than I am that Graham and his ilk are history.  Maybe he’s going to take his boat to the Bahamas and stay there forever. Whatever he chooses to do,  I recommend that he not enter the restaurant business ever again since he does not appear to “get” the whole customer service thing.  If anyone out there reading this blog decides to head over to Le Mistral, please don’t hesitate to let us know how it was!!  And now my next mission: convince the new owners to offer a cheese selection and a hearty list of delicious French wines from which to choose. :)

5 Frogs for Mike Strum, Apple IT Consultant of S. Florida

For those of you in the South Florida area with Mac computers who find yourselves in need of a little tech help, I have got the guy for you!  Oh Mike Strum, wherever did you come from? My angel disguised as a (very cool) computer geek!….. (more…)

3 Frogs for The Grape at Downtown at the Gardens

My husband and I have eaten at the Grape at Downtown at the Gardens twice now in the last month, so now it’s time to give them some feedback Blogiddyblog style.   (more…)

4.5 Frogs for La Fogata in North Palm Beach, Florida

La Fogata is one of those places that can easily become a family’s regular hang-out. The food is always good, the service is always excellent, and you can get in and out under an hour every time, no matter how big a group you have. The lower prices are a nice bonus… (more…)

4 Frogs for City Kitchen in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida

We went to dinner tonight at City Kitchen. We’ve been before, but it’s been awhile. Our waiter was Jeff and he was a mystery man for sure. If I didn’t know better, I’d say he was one of the owners doing some stealth waiting to keep his finger on the pulse of his restaurant…he was that smooth…but I digress.  (more…)

3.5 Frogs for Gardens Ale House

I went to Gardens Ale House today for a quick lunch during the work week. Parking is always a pain in the rear at this place because the lot just isn’t big enough to handle the diners and the solid bar crowd that tends to hang out here. Oh, and the Joanne Fabrics/Crafts place chicks too who share the plaza. So anyway, all three of us decided to throw caution to the wind, to hell with those cholesterol numbers, and order burgers with cheese and mushrooms.  (more…)

A Bog Award for all restaurants that “require” 18-20% tips!

Right off the bat I’m going to let it be known that I waited tables for about 2 years when I first got out of the Air Force. Up in upstate New York, sort of close to the Canadian border. That means, I often waited on Canadians who are used to having their tip included with the meal price, so they just don’t tip worth a hoot. When I worked really hard and did a good job, I was ticked when I didn’t get a good tip. But when I did a bad job and didn’t get a good tip, I understood. That’s they way it is supposed to work: good job=good tip, bad job=bad tip.   (more…)

5 Frogs for DLink router company; Netgear, you stink!

We purchased a Netgear over a year ago and used it for a while before it stopped working.  We tried to fire it up again recently once we FINALLY got our Bellsouth DSL working again.  (more…)

Netgear, you stink.

For those of you who have read my previous post regarding Bellsouth and their crap customer service, you will not be surprised to know that I STILL do not have fully functioning DSL in my home.  I have the DSL but not the wireless.  And now it’s because Netgear won’t give us the double top secret instructions on how to hook the damn wireless up to our DSL modem, because our warranty has run out.  If we want Netgear to help us, we have to pay $65 for a tech support package, which is more than I’d pay for a new wireless router.  Come on!!!  I paid for the damn thing once, why should I have to pay again?!  Put the instructions on your web site so I can hook this puppy up!  Why, oh why, am I forced to deal with this utter lack of customer service?  Can someone tell me? Is there anybody out there?

5 Frogs for Colleen Casey at The Mane Place

If you have a really big hair mistake that needs fixing, go see Colleen at The Mane Place in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, corner of PGA Blvd and Prosperity Farms Road.  If you need a new, updated look, go see Colleen.  If you’re missing that classic Philly accent, go see Colleen.  If you want a hair stylist that is always in a good mood and willing to chat or stay silent, your choice, go see Colleen. I probably shouldn’t tell anyone about her because it will make it that much harder to get an appointment with her, but I just can’t help myself.  Thanks Colleen for always making my haystack head of hair look glamorous, and for letting me do stupid things to my hair and then fixing my errors in judgment. If only I could be like Oprah and employ you full time to manage my ‘do every day…
